About the Role
As a Government Accounting Intern, you will support the accounting team in handling government-related transactions, reconciliations, and reporting. This role provides hands-on experience in tax-related accounting processes, financial reporting, and internal audit support within a corporate setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Government Accounting and Reconciliation
◦ Assist in preparing balance sheet schedules related to government taxes and accounts
◦ Support reconciliation of government-related transactions and accounts
◦ Help ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Financial Reporting and Documentation
◦ Assist in summarizing transactions and preparing supporting documents
◦ Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports
◦ Maintain organized and accurate filing of accounting records
• Audit and Compliance Support
◦ Assist in internal auditing procedures and documentation
◦ Support compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements
◦ Participate in audit-related tasks and special projects as needed
Qualifications
• Must-Have
◦ Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Management Accounting, or Finance
◦ Strong attention to detail and accuracy
◦ Good analytical and problem-solving skills
◦ Organized and able to manage documentation effectively
◦ Willing to learn and support accounting operations
• Nice-to-Have (Optional but recommended!)
◦ Basic understanding of accounting principles or taxation
◦ Experience with financial reports or reconciliations (school or internship)
