As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work closely with our software engineering team to build, maintain, and improve both customer-facing digital platforms and internal applications that support our business operations.
Beyond developing and maintaining e-commerce websites using WordPress and TypeScript/React, you will also be exposed to internal software projects - building tools and applications that help streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and support internal teams across the organization.
You will gain hands-on experience across the entire software development lifecycle, from understanding business requirements to development, testing, and deployment. You’ll also learn industry best practices from a team of engineers who have worked at companies such as Google, Lyft, First Circle, and Edamama.
Collaborate with the software engineering team to design, develop, and maintain web applications and websites using WordPress and TypeScript/React.
Contribute to the development of internal applications and tools that address business needs and support internal teams.
Translate business requirements into technical solutions with guidance from senior engineers.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in both customer-facing platforms and internal systems.
Participate in discussions around system design, feature improvements, and technical solutions. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in web and software development and suggest improvements to tools, processes, and workflows.
Participate in team meetings and provide regular updates on project progress.
Complete assigned tasks on time and with a high level of quality and ownership.
Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Coding fundamentals - knowledge of basic algorithms and data structures and a strong command of at least one programming language.
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot and debug issues.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Experience with HTML/CSS/Javascript.
Experience with a website builder like Wordpress, Wix or Squarespace.
Experience building web pages or web applications for school or side projects.
Familiarity with Git version control.
This is a paid internship position with a flexible work schedule. The internship is expected to last for 3-6 months, depending on the candidate's availability and performance.
